SWEET PEA AND ROSE SHOW 2008 - Sun. 22nd June

SLINFOLD CRICKET FIELD

As part of Slinfest 2008

NON-MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO ENTER

DIVISION I - ROSES

1. One vase of five H.T. mixed.
2. One vase of three any red variety.
3. One vase of three any yellow or cream variety.
4. One vase of three, any one variety, any other colour.
5. One vase of five stems, miniature or patio.
6. One vase of one specimen H.T.
7. Three stems any cluster flowered rose.
8. Three stems any other rose (e.g. old fashioned etc.).
9. One bowl of roses, using 7 blooms, judged for quality and effect (own foliage allowed).
10. Three specimens of any one H.T. variety:- bud, half open and full (one vase for each bloom).
11. A single bloom, judged on scent only.

DIVISION II - SWEET PEAS

12. One specimen sweet pea.
13. One vase of five stems, mixed.
14. One vase of five stems, pink or red.
15. One vase of five stems, white or cream.
16. One vase of five stems, blue or mauve.
17. One vase of five stems, any other colour, one variety (including multi-coloured).
18. An arrangement of sweet peas (max. 15 stems) in any container, any foliage allowed.
19. One stem, judged on scent only.

DIVISION III - OTHER

20. One vase of any one variety of flower (not a shrub).
21. One vase of any flowering shrub of any one variety.
22. Six pansies.
23. The best flower from my garden.
24. A Flowering Orchid
25. A flowering pot plant.
26. A foliage pot plant Please note that Rule 4 applies to the above 3 classes and all are subject to a max. 23cm (9") diameter pot.
27. 1 pan cactus or succulent (pot not to exceed 20cm (8") diameter).
28. Three sticks rhubarb.
29. Five pods broad beans.
30. Five pods peas.
31. Plate of five new potatoes.
32. 2 heads lettuce.
33. Plate of any soft fruit, any one variety.
34. A bonsai (max. height 60cm).

DIVISION IV - FLORAL ART

35. A Floral Art Exhibit 'Flaming June' Table length 59cm (23") allowed.
36. A petite arrangement 'Simplicity' not to exceed 23cm (9²) in any direction.

DIVISION V - CHILDREN'S SECTION

37. A collage picture
38. Photo of 'Sporting Action' (not mounted) Max size 13cm x 18cm (5"x 7")
39. A useful item made from recycled materials
40. Age 8 & under, 4 decorated biscuits cakes (judged on decoration)
41. Age 9-16, 4 decorated biscuits, entrant to bake (judged on decoration and taste)
(Trophy awarded to best item in classes 40 or 41)
42. Maximum weight of potatoes grown in a bucket from a seed potato supplied by us at the Spring Show (or contact Show Secretary a.s.a.p.) (Children's Potato Challenge).

DIVISION VI - HANDICRAFT

43. An article made from a hard material eg wood, metal, ceramic, etc. (base not to exceed 46cm [18"]).
44. A Tea cosy.

DIVISION VII - COOKERY

45. A small bread plait.
46. A savoury flan.
47. A strawberry flan on a home-made sponge base.
48. 4 cheese twists.
Cookery should be removed from the baking tin and displayed on a plate

DIVISION VI - SPECIALS

Youth Groups Class
49. A Display/Montage on A1 or A0 paper to show a trip, outing or activity of the group.
Societies Class
50. Local Horticultural Societies are invited to enter any 3 of the following 5 items as a society.
