SWEET PEA AND ROSE SHOW 2010 - Sat. 26th June

SLINFOLD VILLAGE HALL

NON-MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO ENTER

DIVISION I - ROSES

  1. One vase of five H.T. mixed.
  2. One vase of three any red variety.
  3. One vase of three any yellow or cream variety.
  4. One vase of three, any one variety, any other colour.
  5. One vase of five stems, miniature or patio.
  6. One vase of one specimen H.T.
  7. Three stems any cluster flowered rose.
  8. Three stems any other rose (e.g. old fashioned, single etc.).
  9. One bowl of roses, using 7 blooms, judged for quality and effect (own foliage allowed).
  10. Three specimens of any one H.T. variety:- bud, half open and full (one vase for each bloom).
  11. A single bloom, judged on scent only.
  12. DIVISION II - SWEET PEAS

  13. One specimen sweet pea.
  14. One vase of five stems, mixed.
  15. One vase of five stems, pink or red.
  16. One vase of five stems, white or cream.
  17. One vase of five stems, blue or mauve.
  18. One vase of five stems, any other colour, one variety (including multi-coloured).
  19. An arrangement of sweet peas (max. 15 stems) in any container, any foliage allowed.
  20. One stem, judged on scent only.
  21. DIVISION III - OTHER

  22. One vase of any one variety of flower (not a shrub).
  23. One vase of mixed flowers (8 stems)
  24. One vase of any flowering shrub of any one variety.
  25. Six pansies.
  26. The best flower from my garden (1 stem, single bloom or multiple florets acceptable).
  27. A Flowering Orchid
  28. A flowering pot plant.
  29. A foliage pot plant Please note that Rule 4 applies to the above 3 classes and all are subject to a max. 23cm (9") diameter pot.
  30. 1 pan cactus or succulent (pot not to exceed 20cm (8") diameter).
  31. Three sticks rhubarb.
  32. Five pods broad beans.
  33. Five pods peas.
  34. Plate of five new potatoes.
  35. 2 heads lettuce.
  36. Plate of any soft fruit, any one variety.
  37. A bonsai (max. height 60cm).
  38. DIVISION IV - FLORAL ART

  39. A Floral Art Exhibit 'Shades of Pink' Table length 59cm (23") allowed.
  40. A minimal exhibit in an oriental style using 3 blooms and foliage maximum 45cm (18") height.
  41. DIVISION V - CHILDREN'S SECTION

  42. An item made in a school craft class
  43. Photo of 'Bird/s' (not mounted) Max size 13cm x 18cm (5"x 7")
  44. An item made from recycled materials
  45. a. Age 8 & under, 4 peppermint creams
    b. Age 9-16, 4 pieces of fudge
  46. (Trophy awarded to best item in classes 41a or b)
  47. Maximum weight of potatoes grown in a bucket from a seed potato supplied by us at the Spring Show (or contact Show Secretary a.s.a.p.) (Children's Potato Challenge).
  48. DIVISION VI - HANDICRAFT

  49. An article made from a hard material eg wood, metal, ceramic, etc. (base not to exceed 46cm [18"]).
  50. A stuffed toy.
  51. DIVISION VII - COOKERY

  52. A cottage loaf.
  53. 2 pairs meringue shells, sandwiched with chocolate buttercream.
  54. A Lemon drizzle cake.
  55. A vegetarian quiche - home-made pastry.
  56. Cookery should be removed from the baking tin and displayed on a plate

    DIVISION VI - SPECIALS

    Youth Groups Class
  57. A display on a small table-top or a collage on A1 paper to show a trip, outing or activity of the group.
  58. Societies Class
  59. Local Horticultural Societies are invited to enter any 3 of the following 5 items as a society.
